I've learned about great DVD bargains at these sites:
Before you do anything else, go sign up at
ebates.com. You'll get rebates (up to 25%) on
almost everything you buy online, on top of any other coupons you find. Please use "JLHebert" as a referral (you can click on the link at the bottom of this page.).
Then go buy your DVDs at one of the sites listed on the ebates page. I removed the links to
my favorite stores because you need to go to them from ebates. But my favorite on their list is:
If you're looking for a great place to buy stereo equipment, I highly recommend
JandR.com.
I like this place so much that I signed up to be an affiliate. I hope they're going to start
selling DVDs online soon... They already have them in their catalog.
Here are some places that I've had trouble with and do NOT recommend:
- Zoots - A dry-cleaning service with lots of problems. It sounds good - they pick up and drop
off at your house, and they charge your credit card automatically. But we had a sweater come back from them
smelling of cigarette smoke. So we sent it in to be cleaned again, and this time they gave us someone else's
clothes. They now say our item is lost - they'll give us 60% of the replacement cost, but they're reluctant
to reimburse us the cleaning bill (which we've now paid for twice!)
- egghead.com - Revoked a special offer when too many people used it. Once my CC transaction has gone
through, I expect the product to ship!
- hifi.com - Too much fine print. Their retail stores, online site, and catalog will match each other's
prices, but only if you ask.
- 800.com - I really liked them when they launched this site - with free shipping and ebates rebates. But
service has gone downhill since then. My buddy Phil had a nightmare trying to return a defective disk.
